EDUHOPE Africa Foundation is a modern movement committed to bringing awareness, amplification and significance of the rights of children in Africa, in their pre-Grade R years.
We strongly believe the first five years of a child's life are fundamentally important as they are the foundation that shapes children's future health, happiness, growth, development and learning achievement at school, in the family and community, and in life in general.
Founded by Lorato Molefe-Letuka, at EduHope Africa Foundation we aim is to provide profession training and development of early childhood development centres across Africa by providing support and training to managers, teachers and care takers. Our team is made up of qualified Education and Community Development Professionals, Registered Social Workers and Auxiliary Social Workers, Qualified ECD Practitioners, Seasoned Life and Business Coaches already provide the best support and development to ECD practitioners and owners.

Our Children's Rights Advocacy Approach
To mentor ECD Centre Managers on the Registration, Administration and ECD Regulations to ensure compliance with ECD Norms and Standards according to the Children’s Act.
To give hope to ECD practitioners by giving them tools to implement the National Curriculum Framework for children aged 0-4 years old.
To encourage and support ECD Practitioners to obtain matric certificates and ECD qualifications.
To Give simulation training on ECD lessons.
To coach ECD Managers with business skills in order for them to have the skill to manage their resources and increase their chances of securing funding.
To encourage social entrepreneurship by empowering managers to be financially independent.
To create a bridge between ECD Centres and other stakeholders.
To get the parents involved in their children’s learning and development.
To advocate for the rights of children under 4 years old.
To mentor and coach ECD Practitioners to implement an uncomplicated, easy and straightforward world class lesson plans, aligned to National Curriculum Framework.
To Set up Early Childhood Development (ECD) Social Hubs in Previously Disadvantage Communities, by sourcing funds for the upgrading of spacious existing ECD Centres for training purposes using the EDUHOPE Operating Model.
To encourage the implementation of the Edu-Hope Model by providing on-the-job training for teachers and managers through the EDU HOPE Skills Development Programmes.
To empower ECD workforce with ECD Management and Administration training through the EDUHOPE Social Entrepreneur Development Program, to ensure compliance with industry regulations
To monitor and support managers and teachers by visiting their centres and conducting one-on-one consultations through the EDUHOPE Employee Wellness Programmes.
To conduct a comprehensive needs analysis on behalf of funders, and assist with affordable and durable educational toys for classroom set up, through the EDUHOPE Adopt A Crèche Initiative.
To unite the ECD sector and close racial barriers that exists specifically in the ECD sector, through the EDUHOPE ECD Network.
To assist new entrants in the ECD market, with end to end set up of new centres though EDUHOPE incubation program.
To conduct EDUHOPE Parent Engagement Workshops, in order to involve parents in early childhood development.

Lorato Molefe-Letuka

Lorato Letuka: Early Years
Lorato Letuka was born Lorato Molefe, in Kimberley and attended 7 schools in townships, villages and former model-C schools, while moving from town to town due to her parents careers.
She obtained her matric in Brebner High School in Bloemfontein, Free State in 1997, and graduated at Technikon Free State, now known as Central University of Technology in 2002, with a Baccalaureus Technology: Public Management. She served her practical training at Department of Education: Accounts division and in 2002 and at Central University of Technology in 2003 at the university's International Office where she worked with students from across the globe.
Lorato got married in 2003 to Mokete Letuka, a fellow Technicon Free State student from Lesotho who was studying Education.
The Learning and Development journey begins at FNB
Lorato joined First National Bank: Learning And Development in 2004 as a Temp Administration assistant and was appointed as a Campus Course Coordinator for the Free State and Northen Cape Provinces. Lorato developed a passion for putting learning systems in place, which won her promotions into positions of Training Operational Support for Free State and Northern Cape Provinces and by 2007, She was appointed as the Acting Campus Manager for FNB Learning, Free State.
In 2008, Lorato was appointed as a Training Manager and in the same year she was seconded to First National Bank Africa, to establish a learning and development division in FNB Lesotho.
Lorato returned to work in South Africa in 2009 to give birth to her second born and the birth of their 3rd born in 2011 is what caused Lorato to make a drastic decision to trade the boardroom for a playroom.
Trading big people for small people: The journey of ECD Begins
March 2012 marked the end of Lorato's journey with First National Bank and a new one began in Early Childhood Development. While researching the idea of opening a Preschool in April to October 2012, Lorato served at the Central University of Technology's Innovation Services during that period until she launched WOW Care Bears Daycare in November 2012.
In 2013, Lorato was requested by some companies to assist with conducting a needs analysis for Cee Jay Teleka Educare in the informal settlement and the poverty she got exposed to captivated her heart and soul to a point of no return. She launched a Community Service Initiative and named it "Hands and Feet of Jesus Project".
